“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
This question has been asked by every single adult to every single child.
The problem lies not in the answer, but in the question.
The adult is imposing on the highly impressionable child that the
Child has no choice but to pick one field and become an expert in it.
Our society expects Youth to focus on one field and diligently work to be the best.
However, as time passes, experts will without a single shred of doubt experience drudgery and desolation
where passion is dried up
where initial altruism disappears and
where money becomes the only reason to wake up from this endless working cycle.
We live on Earth and we insist on becoming an expert to a discipline that is only applicable to Earth.
I choose not to follow this antiquated standard.
To reach human potential, I choose to become a Student of the Universe, an Expert of the Universe.
Our goal is not to master living comfortably on Earth.
We live this rare existence every single day to
not become an expert at an Earth job.
Any human being is here for so much more.
As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin brilliantly stated,
“We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
While our physical bodies may never reach the ends of the Universe, our minds have been given the opportunity to go even further.
What do I want to be when I grow up?
become the Expert of my Original Existence
the Expert of the Universe
the Expert of Reality.
